Celebrating the formation of Piha CoastCare Trust

On Sunday October the 18th 2009 twenty eight Piha CoastCare supporters celebrated the formation of the Piha CoastCare Trust by meeting at the Karekare Beach carpark, walking the beach to Pararaha then up through the bush via the Zion Hill track.

It was a glorious day.  Nothing tells a story quite like photos so do enjoy. ALL photos can be clicked for larger images.

This is only the first half of the tramp and photos.  The second half will follow along with descriptions.  In the mean time hover your mouse over the photo and it might give you a description.  Enjoy!

We then headed inland and through some of the most beautiful native New Zealand bush.  The Waitakere Ranges are certainly a wonderful example of the best.

The Piha CoastCare Trustees would like to thank Pat la Roche, Piha CoastCare Trustee,  for organising this fabulous trip to celebrate the formation of the Trust.  We would also like to thank those that came and joined us and especially the ARC Ranges, Mark Bellingham of Bethells and Jeff McCauley of Piha for sharing their invaluable knowledge of the area.  For those that were not able to join us for various reasons we hope you can join us next time - there will be a next time and not too far away . . . .  hopefully.  (All photographs by Bobbie Carroll of Piha)
